Why You Need a Liner Tape for Your Project – How to Use It and Why It’

When you’re working on a project that requires large amounts of tape, it’s a good idea to use liner tape. A liner tape is just that — it is extra tape designed for use on flooring projects. There are many different types of tapes available, and using the right one for the job is important. While some tapes can be used for everything, there are certain tapes that are better suited for specific tasks or projects. Here are some of the main reasons why you need a liner tape:

IT MAKES IT EASIER TO MEASURE, CUT, AND PASTE

When measuring for your floorplans or cut lists, make sure the tape is marked on the square inch or the metric unit. That helps avoid having to convert from one unit to the other and makes the process easier. When measuring for cutting, mark the tape so it will be easier to cut along. A smooth cut along the tape will likely end up with a tape that’s sticky. The paste method is the easiest way to join two pieces of flooring. Using the tape, simply trace the outline of the boards you want to join and then cut along the outline. It might sound complex, but it’s actually easier than it sounds. Once you’ve joined the two pieces of flooring, it’s much easier to remove the tape from the subflooring and reuse it on the next project.

SOLVES THE PROBLEM OF ADHESIVE STICKING

Adhesives are the glue that holds the floor together. There are a variety of different types of adhesives available, and the one you choose will affect the appearance, adhesion, and longevity of your flooring. Many flooring brands now use a hybrid of both adhesives to create a lasting flooring solution. That means some boards will have a bit of adhesive on one side and a bit on the other. The hybrid combination of adhesive and polyurethane will likely last longer than either one of the two Alone or the two Together adhesions.

TAPES ARE REUSABLE AND CAN BE PLACED IN STORAGE.

A lot of the hassles of storage and clean-up come with a project. The tape can stay in the storage unit, and the flooring project will be completed when the storage unit is closed, and the project is complete. You won’t have to worry about the tape getting wrinkled, dirty, or creased from being in storage and being used on another flooring project. When it comes time to retire a tape, you can simply place it in storage and use it when needed for another flooring project. You can also use extra tapes as a buffer between projects to help prevent messes and delays.

WRAPPING UP

A flooring project doesn’t have to be difficult or time-consuming. If you take the time to plan out the design, cut the material and use quality materials, it’s possible to have a successful project without having all the right tools. The right tools can make the difference between a successful and a failed flooring project. A good solid tape is a key to success when building a floor. You can use it to keep your project from falling apart and to finish the job.
